Paper Stacking Own Design
Inspiration: Stained Glass
With the second paper stacking form I used stained glass as my inspiration. I looked at the shapes and the colors that were created in the stained glass. I like the way the black lines helped the colors popand wanted to show that in my structure. I wanted each panel to be different than the other so i used a variety of shapes and colors in each.
Final Work:
Paper Stacking fruit observation
For the observational paper stacking I chose to do a pear. Getting the little dimples and the round bottom proved to be the most difficult part while making the form.
Poetic Metamorphasis
In the story, Gregory spends his day in his room looking out the window creating a focal point. With my bed I focused on whats outside the window and tried bringing the outside into the interior of the room. I created a focal point using the blanket, making it a colorful scene from out doors. The bed frame I made look like wood and made the nightstand in the shape of a log as a way to bring the outside in. I also wanted to make it more cherry because the ending was not so i made flowers and Gregory a bowl of soup.
Elements and Principles in 3D
Variety: To portray variety I want to make a form that had a different textures along with structures that were different sizes and shapes.
Unity: In order to portray unity I used taped to connect each side of the structure.
Scale: When making a structure to represent scale I created two layers of columns that vary in height.
Texture: In creating texture I used tape bunched up at the bottom. I also wrapped up some wood in tape and rolled it in wood shavings.
